Creative Innovation for Global Recycling Day at Spectrum

The Global Recycling Foundation has unveiled ‘creative innovation’ as its theme for its flagship Global Recycling Day, taking place on 18 March.

As a London based recycling and waste management company Spectrum Recycling are constantly looking at ways to innovate their recycling offering to encourage as many customers as possible to adopt recycling programmes.

A recycling service many Spectrum Recycling customers choose include food waste recycling service – where food is separated from general waste and processed at an anaerobic digestion plant to produce Biogas, which is a renewable energy source that can be used to power engines, produce mechanical power, heat and/or electricity.

Additional services include separating dry mixed recycling from general waste which can then be sorted at a materials recovery facility to recycle the items, glass which can be recycled over and over and over without losing quality, and cardboard which can be 100% recycled is separately stored (and sometimes baled) before collection.

Creative innovation means companies considering their entire model of purchasing items and thinking about the packaging and where end of life items might end up. This is something Spectrum Recycling are experts in advising and providing solutions to businesses about.
